Somehow I, an alltime fan of big dogs, got fascinated by short-legged herding dogs - Swedish Vallhunds. This far I've never regretted choosing this breed and my next dog will quite likely be a Swedish Vallhund as well.
Typical to Swedish Vallhunds, "Peppi" gets along with other dogs very well. She is, overall, a very pleasant dog even though she is occasionally a tad bit timid.
My goal has been to take Peppi to one show a year even though this far she is yet to be judged "excellent". Most often she comes home with "very good".
I have also taken Peppi to a herding instinct test. She turned out to have "good herding instinct".
When Peppi was a puppy we trained some obedience with a competitive goal. Since then our training has faded to an occasional practice on the daily walks. Essentially, Peppi's job is to be a family dog, at which she has been excellent.
